"Athletic training is essential. Golfers looking for the competitive edge take physical training seriously."
The Butch Harmon Golf Fitness program will help increase flexibility for people who experience lower back pain due to inflexibility in the hamstrings, back, hip flexors, and lumbar-pelvic region. It can also enhance physical efficiency and performance, promote greater joint flexibility for a quicker and more fluid movement, improve relaxation, enhance poster, and improve circulation and joint nutrition which decreases the likelihood of degenerative joint disease. This program can also reduce the energy required for movement and prevent injury by increasing the range of movement around a joint.
The Butch Harmon Golf Fitness Program uses the MedX stretch machine to increase flexibility, thereby increasing club head speed. For every 1mph increase in club head speed, two yards will be added on the golf course. More strength and flexibility also improves balance and timing throughout the swing. This will enhance a players ability to hit out of heavy rough, play the ball from buried lies in bunkers, and hit the ball low in wind or high to a well-guarded pin. Within 30 days players can realize a minimum 25-50 percent gain in range of motion.
Torque is the difference between the rotation of the shoulders and the rotation of the hips on the backswing. A proper shoulder turn with tight resistance in the hips enables a player to explode back into the ball during the golf swing. The MedX Rotary machine secures the hips while it works both sides of the body through a full range of motion, isolating and strengthening the muscles used in every golf swing.
